Within the frame work of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 – Binh Thuan, from 27th August to 3rd September, an exhibition on Vietnam’s sea and island cultural heritage to be organized in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
The exhibition will honor tangible and intangible cultural heritage values and unique tourism products of Vietnam's seas and islands.
The event was directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province, and hosted by the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan. The exhibition attracts the participation of more than 20 provinces and cities of Vietnam.
270 images and artifacts about Vietnam's seas and islands will be displayed following four main contents: documents and artifacts about the history of Vietnam’s sea and island culture; building and protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands; art photos of Vietnam’s seas and islands; and Vietnamese youth with Vietnam’s sea and islands.
In addition, a display space "Colors of cultural heritage, sea and islands" of 22 provinces and cities presents typical local cultural heritage properties and scenic spots; exploiting sea and island heritage in the period of integration, tourism development and the process of protecting heritage and handicraft products.
Participating localities also organized performances, exchange cultural and art programs, folk games, introduce route tours, new tourism products, and souvenir products.
The highlight of the event is a street festival “Binh Thuan Colors” with the participation of more than 400 people and local art troupes such as Phan Thiet Lions and Dragons, Nghinh Ong Festival, Van Thuy Tu Phan Thiet Festival, Ka Te festival of the Cham ethnic group and performances honoring intangible cultural heritage of folk songs and dry puppetry.
The exhibition will be take place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
