Finland for train travellers

Visit Finland is looking to encourage travellers to discover the Finnish Landscape by train during the summer months.

Finland in Northern Europe borders Sweden, Norway and Russia. It sits on a peninsula and surrounding islands in the Baltic Sea.

Its capital, Helsinki is home to the 18thcentury sea fortress Suomenlinna and the fashionable Design District.

The Northern Lights can be seen from the country's Arctic Lapland province, a vast wilderness with national parks and ski resorts.

Travelling by train is one of the best ways to experience Finland, with Finnish trains proud of their state of the art carriages, punctuality, playrooms for children and dining.

Passengers also have the option to bring cars and bicycles on board. Top destinations to experience Finland by rail include :

Rovaniemi

The Finnish Lapland capital, Rovaniemi, provides hiking trails and forests.

Direct trains are from Helsinki and Turku, located in southern Finland, with journeys that give passengers some of the most scenic rail routes in the world.

Located just outside Rovaniemi city centre, Ollero Eco Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of Lapland, www.olleroecolodge.com/accommodation
