Recently, a number of localities in Bac Ninh province has shown up as investment models of agricultural and rural tourism. Agricultural farms combine sightseeing, check-in photos, and shopping for agricultural products.

Driving through the fields, visiting the orchards, leisurely checking in among the flower beds in the fields, enjoying local specialties, appreciating traditional cultural values... is a travel trend attracting a variety of tourists. The agricultural and rural tourism model is in need of strong enough mechanisms and policies to create a push, awaken the potential and open the development direction…

Rural tourism is a series of activities, services and utilities provided in rural areas for the purpose of developing the strengths and potentials of agriculture, cultural identity, craft villages and ecological environment… This is a sustainable form of tourism, helping to preserve and develop the culture, history and traditions of a land, at the same time, diversify tourism products and open up many new business opportunities for local people.

In Bac Ninh, typical rural tourism models include the high-tech agricultural farm Delco Farm in Thuan Thanh District; model of growing perilla in a greenhouse in Luong Tai District; Ngam Mac Safe Vegetable Cooperative in Gia Binh District; Experimental production centre of high-tech agriculture in Tien Du District; Liem Anh Farm in Tien Du…

In the province's tourism development project with orientation to 2030, Bac Ninh focuses on solutions to develop community-based tourism models in Quan ho villages, traditional craft villages, and rural agricultural villages. Typically, the model of community tourism in Hoa Long Ward (Bac Ninh City) develops homestay and eco-tourism services that combine experience and discovery of traditional cultural values, remarkably is the Heritage of Quan Ho Bac Ninh Folk Songs; connecting the experience Diem village tourist spot with Ba Chua Kho temple, Cau river cruise, enjoying Quan ho cuisine...

Similarly, Song Ho (Thuan Thanh District) is oriented to develop community tourism with the highlight on experiencing and understanding the value of Dong Ho folk painting craft combined with visiting historical and cultural relics in communes along Duong river; in Gia Binh to develop a model of community tourism, homestay tourism, visiting traditional craft villages associated with agro-ecological tourism experiences, cycling tours along the Duong river dike; in Tien Du develops a weekend leisure tourism model associated with experiences, sightseeing tours of Phat Tich pagoda…

According to experts in the tourism field, the rural tourism will be one of the popular trends chosen by many tourists in the coming years. Localities need to focus on planning, developing the distinctiveness, creativity, and unique imprints of culture and ecological landscape based on the advantages of each locality to create tourism products. The new calendar is in line with the needs of the market but must preserve natural and cultural values. People as subjects of the local community also need to be trained to be able to become real guides. They must master farming or traditional crafts, understand the identity and customs of their homeland to guide and help tourists.

Based on the strength of the province's tourism resources, in the next period, Bac Ninh aims to create a system of high-quality, unique, high-value-added tourism products to meet the demands of tourists; developing "green" tourism products, giving priority to the development of cultural tourism, community tourism, river tourism, ecotourism and agricultural tourism; implementing the project on rural tourism development in new rural construction in Bac Ninh province in the period of 2023 - 2025, with orientation to 2030.

The province's tourism industry continues to advise on building and replicating tourism models associated with agricultural and rural areas; organising promotion activities, promoting rural tourism destinations and products inside and outside the province; developing community tourism in association with new rural construction; integrating the promotion of community tourist attractions in association with tourism programmes and events and cultural and artistic activities; guiding and encouraging the organisations and individuals to develop rural tourism; guiding localities to implement plans to preserve, restore and promote traditional cultural activities for rural tourism development…
