Unlike most art shows, Setouchi Triennale, a nine-month art fair, is not confined to galleries and museums.
It is one of the largest art festivals in Japan and has been bringing world-class art to an unlikely location: the islands across Japan's Seto Inland Sea!
Aside from the mainstays of art on the islands of Naoshima, Teshima and Inujima, the Triennale extends its exhibition locations to other islands in the region, going as far as Takamatsu in Kagawa Prefecture, and will be available during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
With the Setouchi Triennale, the art of the sea is not just a metaphor – it's a real and a beautiful one!
