Villatravellers offers culinary Sicily

Villatravellers
Villatravellers offers 70 villa properties across the Italian island of Sicily.

Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, is just off the ‘toe’ of Italy's boot’.

Its rich history is reflected in the Valley of the Temples, the well preserved ruins of seven monumental Greek temples, and in the Byzantine mosaics at the Cappella Palatina, a former royal chapel in capital city Palermo.

On Sicily’s eastern edge is Mount Etna, one of Europe’s highest active volcanoes.

Villatravellers has now launched a series of gourmet experiences designed to highlight ‘Italian food to life and provide guests with an immersive holiday centred around Sicilian cooking’.

These will include stops at the island’s best eateries with a guide who will share insider tips about Sicily’s culinary culture through visits to local street food tours and in-villa dining experiences.

The Palermo or Catania street food tour, for example, takes in authentic street food within local markets and the chance to appreciate the local history and culture.

Guests can also spend time with a local chef as they prepare classic Sicilian dishes such as caponata, pasta alla norma, and gelo di melone in their villa accommodation.
