Yokai are supernatural beings that evoke awe and wonder, passed down through legend in Japan since ancient times. Tachikawa Yokai Bon Odori 2023 is a unique 3-day event where people dance dressed up as Yokai, held from October 7 at the shopping mall near Tachikawa Station, GREEN SPRINGS.
“The 2-day event ‘Tachikawa Yokai Bon Odori,’ held at GREEN SPRINGS in October 2022, gathered an estimated 25,000 people and enthralled them in a whirlwind of excitement. We are pleased to announce that the event will be held again in 2023. The concept of this event is to dance the traditional Bon Odori while dressed as ‘yokai,’ creatures from Japanese folklore.
The event features live music performances, a spectacular lineup of music concerts, DJ performances, a yokai costume contest, and festival food stalls. Experience a unique Bon Odori event unlike any other for three days.”

DJ's from Fussa, Hachioji, Kokubunji, and Tachikawa areas will dress up as yokai and showcase their unique DJ stages in a free area.

you can enjoy activities such as shooting games, ring toss, mask shops, miscellaneous goods, as well as workshops like lottery draws and face painting.

The Yokai Bon Odori will take place at the 2nd-floor plaza of GREEN SPRINGS, a multipurpose facility located in Tachikawa. The plaza features abundant greenery and water, creating a pleasant atmosphere just by walking through it.
