A destination awareness campaign and official 'Curry Crawl' Map will be delivered after the council won the Local Government Association of Queensland's (LGAQ) 'It's Time To Shine' competition, awarded at this week's LGAQ Annual Conference in Gladstone.
The competition asked Councils around the state to share their one big tourism campaign idea.
The Curry Crawl will encourage visitors to explore iconic pubs and local businesses along the trail, enjoying a literal taste of the area while also meeting local characters, hearing stories and immersing themselves in the region.
The prize, provided by TEQ, is a $10,000 marketing package through TEQ's industry media agency IMATE.
