Admire the lush carpet of green kochia bushes adorning the picturesque Ibaraki coast

As you traverse through the spacious Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture, you will be greeted by the delightful sight of rotund kochia bushes at Miharashi no Oka Hill, their branches cascading with fluffy, lime green foliage in summer (mid- July to late September) that turn scarlet red later in mid-October.

Katsuta Station, the nearest station to the park is about a 2-hour bus ride away from Tokyo Station or a 75-min train ride away from Shinagawa Station. From there, you can take a local bus and alight at the West Entrance (Tsubasa no Gate).
