At the famous mountain of Daisen in Tottori prefecture, on the first weekend of June every year the "Daisen Natsuyama Opening Festival" is held. This festival is held to pray for the safety of mountain climbing at the start of the mountaineering season in Natsuyama.
On Saturday, an event called "Taimatsu Gyoretsu" is held as the eve of the Natsuyama Opening Festival.
This is about 2000 people holding a torch in their hands and parading along the approach to the shrine, the wave of flames from the fire of a torch floats brightly in the night sky.
Many tourists from Japan and overseas visit every year to see this festival.
