In March 1983 Up Where We Belong was number 1 on the Australian Music Chart for 2 weeks. The song has been covered by Alvin and the Chipmunks, was featured in an episode of The Simpsons and also covered by South Park. The song is currently sitting at number 29 in the Billboard 40 biggest duets of all time. You can also hear it played in an episode of Friends and as part of a medley in the musical Moulin Rouge!
