The ancient landscape offers travelers a unique opportunity to explore the landscape while relishing in luxurious amenities in the Outback
Arkaba Station, one of Australia’s most beautiful outback properties, has partnered with leading travel photographer Richard I’Anson for a unique photography retreat. The five-day photography retreat in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia will take place September 20-24, 2012, at Arkaba Station, a luxury homestead property renowned for its exclusive wilderness experiences, supremely comfortable luxury camping, unique and intimate dining, and classic Aussie hospitality in the remote and beautiful Flinders Ranges.

I’Anson will lead the group, a maximum of 10 photographers, in guided sessions around several backdrops throughout the private wildlife sanctuary to capture the spectacular landscape. Focal points will include the majestic and dramatic Wilpena Pound, craggy sandstone bluffs, and dry creek beds lined with river red gums. Guests can also expect to encounter various wildlife—Western Grey Kangaroos, Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies, Emus, Wedgetail Eagles, and other inhabitants of the region. A review session of each day’s images will take place at the historic Arkaba Woolshed, followed by lunch and time to relax before the afternoon session. A three-course dinner prepared by the resident chef pairs well with a glass of South Australian wine while guests share stories about their favorite photo of the day.
