Krabi province is organizing the Krabi Rock and Fire
International Contest 2012 during 28-29 April 2012 at Railay Beach, Thailand.
As well as its jagged cliffs and rock-climbing culture, the area is also
well-known for its sandy beaches, natural beauty and excellent
infrastructure, making it a popular tourist spot.
The sport of rock
climbing will be promoted and publicised among tourists, both Thai and
foreigners. Krabi province is fortunate to have abundant and outstanding
natural attractions, particularly Railay
Beach, featuring high steep limestone
terrain standing over the turquoise colour of the Andaman Sea.
There are more than 600 world-class beautiful
rock climbing routes and challenging climbing spots that are suitable for participants of all levels of experience and skill. Rock climbers can eye the
panoramic views along beautiful coastlines and sandy beaches with numerous
islands in the Andaman
Sea.

This year, the contest is divided into two categories: Lead
Climbing Marathon and Deep Water Soloing. In addition, there is also the Fire
Contest in Open Free Style category. In the past years, Krabi's Rock and Fire
International Contest received a good response and has been well-known at
national and international levels, which has helped stimulate tourism industry
in the province.
