Public Art: A Cultural Journey
The Intuit Dome is not just about sports; it’s also a cultural beacon. A remarkable public art program, with works by world-renowned artists, is on display throughout the venue.
Michael Massenburg’s “Cultural Playground”: This 25-foot-tall, 100-foot-wide mural greets visitors as they approach the arena, celebrating LA's diverse culture through figures of athletes, musicians, and dancers. The mural highlights Massenburg's belief that “the two most profound things that unite people are the arts and sports.”
Glenn Kaino’s “Sails”: Installed at the main entrance, this massive sculpture—standing nearly 60 feet tall—takes inspiration from the Clippers’ nautical theme. The “sails,” made of concrete, steel, and wood, symbolize the global connectivity of trade routes, with basketball hoops integrated into the design.
Jennifer Steinkamp’s “Swoosh”: The building’s exterior is transformed by Steinkamp’s digital artwork, which animates the surface of the dome with flowing visuals inspired by wind and gravity. When the Clippers win a game, the building itself celebrates with a dynamic visual display.
Refik Anadol’s “Living Arena”: A groundbreaking AI-generated digital installation, displayed on an LED screen, dynamically tells the story of the Clippers’ history, LA’s urban landscape, and more, in real-time.
Other impressive works include Patrick Martinez’s “Same Boat” and Kyungmi Shin’s “Spring to Life”, which add to the cultural richness of the space, creating a profound connection between art, history, and sport.
An Arena That Brings People Together
The Intuit Dome is a space that is as much about culture as it is about sports. Designed with a focus on community engagement, it reflects the vibrant spirit of Los Angeles while pushing the limits of modern architecture and technology. Whether you're a basketball fan, art enthusiast, or simply visiting to experience something truly unique, the Intuit Dome offers an unparalleled venue to experience the best of LA.
