NOW OPEN: MOAMA LIGHTS IS LIGHTING UP THE MURRAY ALL MONTH LONG

Moama Lights
Moama Lights, the spectacular regional light show, is now open. Every weekend until Sunday, July 28, visitors can embark on an immersive journey reflecting this year’s theme, "Enchanted Nights: A Celebration of Light." Set against the stunning backdrop of Moama’s Horseshoe Lagoon, Moama Lights showcases stories from across the region through state-of-the-art installations, projections, and cutting-edge moving light technology.

Inspired by Banjo Paterson's evocative poem "The Daylight is Dying," the dazzling light displays have been designed and produced by the world-class design studio MandyLights. As the sun sets, guests are transported to a vibrant, illuminated world that captures the essence of the night-time ecosystem and the natural elements that come to life after dusk.

This year's event highlights the mysteries of the bushland with features like illuminated ripples dancing on the water’s surface and projections of children’s artworks spread across the lagoon. Spectacular Indigenous artworks by First Nations artist Warrick Keen and the brilliant contemporary Yorta Yorta artist Alkina Edwards also light up the region.

Mayor Frank Crawley emphasized that this year’s event is not to be missed, stating, “The 2024 event celebrates the wonders of nature through an ever-changing display of captivating colors, spectacular sounds, and amazing local art. We are delighted to welcome both locals and visitors to the region once again.”

With the event likely to sell out, visitors are encouraged to secure their tickets at www.moamalights.com.au. Additional attractions include an outdoor ice-skating rink, the American Hotel beer garden, and various food trucks.

Presented by Murray River Council and Mandylights and supported by Moama Bowling Club, Destination NSW, Rich River Golf Club, Campaspe Shire Council, Campaspe Port Enterprise, Essential Energy, Echuca Moama Accommodation Association, Border Inn Hotel, Moama Bakery, Decentralised Demountables, Riverine Herald, Edge FM and Northern Hire.
