Leading Australian travel podcast 'The World Awaits' turns one

The podcast was created to entertain, inform and inspire those who love to travel, Belle, Kirstie and sound producer and reporter Alaisdair Leith have now served up 50 episodes of great travel stories.

The World Awaits goes out every Thursday morning on all major platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and on the website, The World Awaits.

In its first year, the podcast has attracted some of the biggest names in the industry, and those setting the trend for the future of travel.

The roll call of great guests includes Bruce Poon Tip of G Adventures and Channel Nine's Travel Guide Kevin Moloney, Lonely Planet's Tony Wheeler and hotel designer extraordinaire Bill Bensley, Andrew Waddel of Tourism NZ and Lisa Pagotto of Crooked Compass – to name but a few.

“We've covered everything from the major trends such as slow and sustainable travel, Indigenous adventures and giving back to community, to beautiful personal stories where travel has literally transformed lives,” says Kirstie.

“We've taken you to both poles, up mountains and on cruise ships, to the wilds of Arabia, the well-trodden streets of Paris and for a long, long walk in New Zealand. And we can't wait to keep inspiring people to pack their bags and change their lives through travel,” says Belle.
