Celebrate in style at the Sydney Opera House this New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve Opera Australia
New Year’s Eve is the biggest night of the year and two stunning performances from Opera Australia will be the centrepiece of celebrations at the Sydney Opera House, combining sumptuous singing and soaring music with a stunning harbour-side setting and a front row view of the world famous fireworks.

Audiences can choose between the glamourous Opera Gala in the Concert Hall or the Australian Premiere of a spectacular new production of Massenet’s Cinderella, and build their own perfect night of entertainment, with a package or bespoke experience.

This operatic adaptation of the much-loved fairy tale, Cinderella is direct from The Metropolitan Opera in New York, filled with outrageous costumes, a luscious score and divine singing. The perfect show to take you through to the stroke of midnight. Hang onto your glass slippers!

Meanwhile in the Concert Hall, The Opera Gala is a showcase of some of the greatest arias ever written, performed by a cast of Australia’s finest singers, accompanied by a full orchestra. An uplifting and luscious performance, guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.

Attending a show at the Opera House, guests can escape from the hustle and bustle of the enthusiastic crowds who flock to Sydney from around the globe, descending on the harbour to see the world’s most famous fireworks display for themselves.

Opera Australia offers guests the opportunity to indulge in the ultimate, once in a lifetime New Year’s Eve experience with the exclusive NYE Platinum Package.

Selling out every year, the Platinum Package includes pre-show dinner, platinum reserve seating for the performance of your choice, either The Opera Gala or Cinderella, champagne at interval and entry to the midnight party in the Northern Foyer overlooking Sydney Harbour with one of the most sought-after views of the fireworks.

Alternatively, guests can create their own experience with tickets to the performance only, with the option of adding the midnight party or the pre-show dinner.

Intervals for both shows will coincide with the 9:00pm fireworks, allowing guests to take advantage of the many viewing points around the Opera House.
