Autumn foliage on Mt. Kurikoma the "Carpet of God"!

Mt. Kurikoma is well-known for its stunning natural scenery, particularly in autumn. It is also an active volcano that covers Miyagi, Iwate, and Akita Prefecture.

 
The peak autumn foliage viewing season begins in mid-September near the summit, and extends down to the rest of the mountain until mid-October. 

During this time, the mountain is covered with orange leaves, turning the entire view a vibrant orange. This breathtaking view is often referred to as the "Carpet of God"!

There are several trails available, ranging from novice to advanced. All of the trails offer a different view from the mountain, so even if you are a beginner, there is much to see at Mt. Kurikoma!
