Meliá Chiang Mai Celebrates Mother’s Day with ‘Only the Best for Mom’

The new Meliá Chiang Mai will host an exquisite four-course menu to mark Mother’s Day at 21st floor Mai Restaurant & Bar, with its panoramic views of Chiang Mai and famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop.

Accompanied by selection of fine teas or Spanish coffee and a Jasmine garland gift for Mom, the ‘Only the Best for Mom’ dinner available from 12 – 14 August starts with the ‘Mai’s Sampler’ appetizer comprising tasting size portions of five different delicacies, such as Crisp fried fluffy catfish and pomelo salad scented with rice field crab jus and Northern Thai-style pork sausage with grilled ginger and pickled cucumber.

After ‘Gaeng Phak Whan Baan’ soup, featuring royal project mushrooms, young spinach and locally grown green leaves in smoked dried fish broth seasoned with shrimp paste, diners savour one of two main course options. ‘Pla Salmon Nham Prik Oung’ is a baked salmon fillet with nham prik oong, lemon, sauteed gurmar leaves and steamed pandan rice. ‘Pappardelle pasta in khao soi curry’ includes hot seared Australian beef sirloin, homemade pickled vegetables and lime.

The feast is topped off with ‘Mother’s Day Treasure Box’ with Kanom tien saveoy, Thai meringue and rose-raspberry tart.

The ‘Only the Best for Mom’ dinner, on offer from 6pm-10pm, is THB 1,300 nett per person.
