Research from Booking.com has revealed that a quarter (25%) of Aussie travellers plan to choose their next stay based on how pet-friendly it is and almost a quarter (24%) admit that if they can’t bring their pet on their trip it will affect the accommodation they choose*. With travel now well and truly back and with more travellers seeking accommodation to satisfy all their needs, National Dog Day on Friday 26th of August barks the perfect time to treat your pet to a getaway

Given the huge increase in pet ownership during the pandemic (45% increase in dog adoptions), it's clear pet-friendly stays are something that owners across Australia need. Booking.com has pulled together a list of top pet-friendly homes and hotels across Australia that offer a welcoming environment for their guests and their precious companions.

In order to participate in this survey, respondents had to be 18 years of age or older, had to have travelled at least once in the past 12 months and be either the primary decision maker or involved in the decision making of their travel. The survey was taken online and took place in November 2020.
