Around 90 minutes’ drive from Chiang Mai city, Doi Inthanon National Park is a popular destination for visitors who flock to various viewpoints there to experience the misty morning weather brought by the cooler months, a picturesque sight that is affectionately referred to as the ‘sea of mist’.
The mountaintop of the 2,565-metre high Doi Inthanon and the Kiew Mae Pan Viewpoint are favourite spots from which to marvel at the mist that blankets the surrounding countryside.
Prevention and control measures against COVID-19 are in place at the Park, which has been certified to SHA Plus standards – meaning at least 70% of Park staff have so far been vaccinated. To enter the Park, visitors must have received at least their first vaccination dose or show proof of a negative result from an RT-PCR test or ATK kit no more than 72 hours earlier, and undergo temperature screening.
While in Doi Inthanon National Park, visitors must strictly follow measures of the Chiang Mai Communicable Disease Committee and the Park’s guidelines.
Visitor numbers are limited to 2,000 people a day, and to no more than 50 people at any point in the Park at any one time. The entrance fee is 300 Baht for adults and 150 Baht for children, and the opening hours are from 05.30 Hrs.-18.30 Hrs. daily.
People planning to visit the Park are encouraged to pre-book through the Que-Q application, while a limited number of tickets will be available at the Park’s entrance.
