A booming British summer is forecast to extend into autumn this year and whilst the temperature might begin to dip, travel to the UK from Australia is on the rise.
Since Australian travel restrictions lifted, the recovery rate for travel to the UK has been extraordinary with bookings exceeding 2019 levels and arrivals reaching 80% of pre-COVID levels as of 25 July 2022. VisitBritain’s
latest Inbound Sentiment Tracker reflects this pent-up demand for travel, with 59% of Australians surveyed expressing keen interest to take an international leisure trip in the next 12 months and Britain remains the top holiday destination choice for Australian travellers.

Eurovision’s Shortlisted Seven:
The 67th Eurovision Song Contest will take to the stage in the UK next year with Britain hosting on behalf of Ukraine.
Birmingham,
Glasgow,
Leeds,
Liverpool,
Manchester,
Newcastle and
Sheffield have recently been announced as the seven shortlisted cities in the running to play host to the world-famous song contest in May 2023. Alongside its hosting duties, the winning city will look to reflect Ukrainian culture, music and communities as well as celebrate the diverse offerings of British music and creativity. The selection of the Host City will be decided by the BBC in conjunction with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and will be announced this autumn in the UK, so watch this space.
