New Centennial Parklands App Launched to Create the Connected Parklands

Search it, learn it, book it, locate it – these are the principles behind Centennial Parklands new smartphone apps. Launched today and available to download for FREE on iPhone and Android, this next generation app is a must for anyone visiting the Parklands and sets a new benchmark in public space engagement.

With over 20 million visits annually, Centennial Parklands is one of the world's best public parklands. With a dizzying array opportunities, events and recreational facilities on offer (including live entertainment venues, major events, community programs, horse riding, cycling, picnic sites, education, historically significant landmarks and a range of food and beverage outlets) this app puts all the latest information at your fingertips.

Use the new app to:
  • plan your visit
  • search events and activities across the Parklands
  • find visitor services and amenities
  • get daily information on turf sports fields
  • locate and direct yourself around the Parklands using the new interactive GPS map.

Visitors can also stay up-to-date with what's happening in the Parklands though the apps in-built social media displays and feeds, and access information quickly with the in-app QR code reader.

“This app is an example of how Centennial Parklands is leading the way as a truly connected green space,” said Anthony Dunsford, Director of Visitor Experience, Botanic Gardens & Centennial Parklands.

“The Parklands is a truly loved space with a large digital following including over 600,000 sports field users, 250,000 event patrons, families, tourists and more. It is important our visitors be able to find out what to do, where to play, when to go and how to get there in real time. We have researched, listened and built our visitors a fresh, innovative and useful app that does all of this for them.”
