In celebration of Australia’s home-grown talent, the exhibition gala will give guests the chance to witness Australian Champions and Winter Olympians dominate the rink from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Elite skating athletes like 16-year-old Kailani Craine, the 2014 Australian Senior Ladies Champion, and 20-year-old Brendan Kerry, the 2014 Australian Men’s Champion and Winter Olympian, will be among some of the best performing on the night.
Special guest and musical genius Harrison Craig, winner of The Voice 2013, will also perform live throughout the event, with a live rendition of ‘You Raise Me Up’ sung alongside a beautifully choreographed figure skating routine by Australian Junior Men’s Champion, James Min.
Other performances will include theatre on ice, a speed skating race with commentary, and interviews with Australia’s 2015 World Championship medallists in Freestyle, Ski and Snowboard, Laura Peel, Brittany Cox and Scotty James.
The event will be directed by 3-time Olympian, 8-time Australian National Champion and Medibank Icehouse coach, Cameron Medhurst, and presented by Katherine Firkin, a multiple Australian International representative, 3-time Victorian Senior Dance Champion and journalist who recently covered the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.
