This year will be a particularly special reason to celebrate, as Eureka Skydeck will be celebrating their 8th birthday on level 88 of the iconic Eureka Tower; a numerical coincidence and traditionally lucky and prosperous number in Chinese culture.
Since opening its doors in 2007, Eureka Skydeck has welcomed more than 4.8 million visitors to the popular observation deck.
In 2014 alone, Eureka Skydeck had over 600,000 visitors, with people from all over the world stopping by to check out the city from above.
Taking just over 4 years to build, and costing approximately A$500 million, the 92-storey, 297-metre high building is one of only 17 buildings in the world with 90 or more storeys. It is also the highest viewing platform in Australia, surpassing that of Sydney Tower and QDeck, and the tallest building in Melbourne.
To mark this special occasion, Eureka Skydeck will theme the party around all things ‘8’, including cake, balloons and 888 giveaway passes to the top. This sky high Skydeck party will have a whole range of family-friendly activities on offer, including the thrilling Edge and VERTIGO experiences.
Eureka Skydeck will also incorporate a gallery of interactive displays showcasing the history and operations of the attraction, with fun facts about their fastest lifts in the Southern Hemisphere and those 24-carat gold-plated glass windows on the top 10 floors.
Visitors will be encouraged to enjoy all there is to offer from the best vantage point in town, and celebrate the big 8 on level 88 at Eureka Skydeck.
