Thredbo Rockpool Lodge Wins at World Ski Awards

The World Ski Awards, held at A-ROSA Kitzbühel in Austria, has awarded Thredbo's luxury Rockpool Lodge in New South Wales the prestigious title of Best Ski Chalet in Australia.

The five-star lodge in Australia's premium ski village, Thredbo Alpine Resort, boasts a private jacuzzi, gourmet chef's kitchen, sauna and giant open stone fire place that acts as the heart of the lounge. With a grand master bedroom suite complete with private ensuite and claw foot tub plus a relaxation loft, Rockpool Lodge is honoured to be recognised internationally.

The World Ski Awards are the 'sister awards' of the World Travel Awards commonly known as the Oscars of the travel industry. The best in the global ski tourism industry were celebrated at the inaugural World Ski Awards this year and Rockpool shared the stage with the world's best including The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Colorado, The Vale in Niseko and The Carlton Hotel in St Moritz who all won their own categories.

"We are very proud of this achievement," said Gregg Quinn, General Manager of Visit Snowy Mountains.

"To be recognised with such a prestigious International award for our guest services, facilities and quality of accommodation is something that we strive to achieve everyday"

Sion Rapson, Managing Director of the World Ski Awards said: "The reaction to this –our inaugural event – has been phenomenal. Hundreds of thousands travel professionals and skiers across the globe have voted for their favourite resorts, chalets and hotels. Tonight's winners can take enormous pride – they have been voted the finest in their class."
