Tourists, Pilgrims Celebrate Christmas in Bethlehem

The festive mood was palpable as thousands of tourists and pilgrims thronged Bethlehem for Christmas Eve celebrations. The huge turnout in Bethlehem – the birthplace of Jesus Christ, helped to lift the spirits of the residents of Palestine as they prayed for a war-free year ahead.

Tourists in large numbers were seen thronging Manger Square, often stopping by at restaurants or standing in front of the illuminated Christmas tree.

It was definitely a positive vibe in Bethlehem amidst the peace talks between Israel and Palestine. Although some seemed skeptical regarding the speculated Israel-Palestine truce; the entire travel industry believes that the new year will bring an end to the ongoing unrest.
