AIME (Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo) has today announced the pre touring options for the 2014 show, including three new tours to showcase premium venues and activities on offer for business events in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
New tours include ‘Hidden Secrets of the Dandenong Ranges’, which will showcase the beautiful region’s venues perched on hilltops, located just thirty minutes from Melbourne.
The ‘Horses, Wine & Beer Tour’, also new in 2014, offers the opportunity for attendees to visit 'Living Legends' at Woodlands Historic Park, home to retired champion race horses, while the ‘Melbourne – Shopping Tour Experience’ will roam the city, known for its extensive offerings suitable for any seasoned shopper.
In addition, Daylesford & Macedon Ranges, the perfect destination to unwind and pamper, along with Gippsland, known for its unspoilt beaches and venues with exceptional views, are both offering overnight tours for the first time.
Following the pre tours, on the Monday morning prior to AIME commencing, Hosted Buyers will also participate in the Melbourne Showcase, providing delegates the opportunity to explore Melbourne’s top event and accommodation spaces.
In 2014, Hosted Buyers will be able to choose from 19 options designed to cater to a variety of business needs, including unique venues, convention hotels and private dining.
According to Karen Bolinger, Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Convention Bureau, pre touring options and Melbourne Showcase itineraries for 2014 have been created to showcase the diverse offering available in Melbourne and regional Victoria for business events.
“In developing the itineraries for both the pre tours and the Melbourne Showcase, we took a strategic approach and tailored the schedules specific to buyers’ needs, which will allow them to make the most of their time,” Ms Bolinger said.
“These programs provide a great opportunity for us to work with our strategic partners and members in Melbourne and regional Victoria to showcase the fantastic business events capabilities across the state.
Hosted Buyers will have the opportunity to book business on the spot or establish connections for future bookings, which is of enormous value to both parties.”
Jacqui Timmins, Exhibition Director at AIME and CIBTM (China Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition), said the pre tours and Melbourne Showcase offerings are a key component of the Hosted Buyer Program.
“We’re pleased we can increase the touring options to add to the already dynamic schedule for our buyers, and are confident that the tours will be extremely well received,” Ms Timmins said.
Pre touring takes place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, February and is included in AIME’s highly sought after Hosted Buyer Program, which is 90% larger than any other in Australia.
Applications are now open for the AIME 2014 Hosted Buyer Program, with applications being accepted via the AIME website.
