Inland NSW Film Festival

As part of the Dubbo Festival, which takes place 7-30 September 2012, the Inland NSW Film Festival will be a celebration of art, culture, film and music, including 26 days of events, exhibitions, screenings, performances, parties and workshops. The Film Festival will also include premieres of 23 Australian feature films and documentaries and a major installation, which will illuminate the city.

Modelled on the successful film festival in Dungog, organisers of the Dubbo counterpart say a key highlight of the inaugural festival is the strong educational component of the program for visitors and locals.

In its inaugural year, the Inland NSW Film Festival presents the largest program of Australian films Dubbo has ever seen. The comprehensive collection of new and classic feature films, documentaries and outstanding Aussie shorts will screen across three venues over two weekends, Sept 7 - 9 and 14 - 15.

The Inland NSW Film Festival presents 10 Australian features, 5 documentaries, 8 classic Australian films and over 100 shorts, alongside a program of industry seminars, forums, live script readings and speed auditions. The program also includes a special selection for students and younger viewers.

The Dubbo Regional Theatre Convention Centre is transformed into a grand and glamorous cinema for the Inland NSW Film Festival. Here you will find our gala Opening Night film and party, our special centrepiece presentations and our powerful documentary program.

Reading Cinemas are the Inland NSW Film Festival home base with a selection of features, shorts programs, Australian classics and our student day screenings. Taronga Western Plains Zoo will house a special program of wildlife and natural history documentaries. Walk with the animals then watch them... on the big screen. Zoo screenings take place all day every day and best of all, they are free!
