According to statistics, the number of Russian tourists to Vietnam recorded a year-on-year increase of over 56 percent in May, bringing the figure for the first five months of the year to 86,681.
With between 18,000-19,000 Russian holiday makers visiting Vietnam each month, Russia is now in the top ten countries with most visitors to Vietnam .
Phan Thiet and Nha Trang have always been popular with Russians, but this summer, other central coastal provinces are attracting large numbers of Russian tourists.
Travel agents say that each day, Da Nang airport receives one charter flight from Russia with almost 200 passengers on board. Da Nang expects to receive around 12,000 Russian tourists between the end of May and August this year.
