Step inside and you will find a warm and friendly décor of
polished floorboards and lovely timber furniture.
The great thing about Paradiso is that it is a great three
in one paradise to retreat to away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney life. At the front
of Paradiso is the Café, in the middle is the Bar, and at the rear is the Restaurant.
The Paradiso Café serves a great cappuccino and other types
of coffee.
The Paradiso Bar stock a good range of Australian and
imported beers, spirits & liqueurs, cocktails, bubbly, red &
white wine.
The Paradiso Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner
and is frequented by city workers, tourists, and hotel guests..
For breakfast you can either choose individual items from
the breakfast menu, which range in price from $3 - $15, or from the buffet
which is on special at the moment for $16.50 rather than the usual $21. For my
two breakfasts at Paridiso I opted for the extensive breakfast buffet. To build
up my energy levels for hectic days of exploring Sydney I enjoyed the selection
of cereals, yogurt & fruit, choices of breads to toast & condiments,
tea, coffee and juice, and hot food like tomatoes, bacon, sausages, eggs,
beans, hah browns, French toast and pancakes. It is not only people staying at
the Metro on Pitt Hotel who have breakfast at Paradiso – it is so popular that
people staying at other hotels in the city also frequent it, as do office
workers who prefer to eat there rather than at home. Breakfast is served on
weekdays from 7am to 10.30am on weekdays, and from 7.30am to 11am on weekends.
For lunch and dinner there is a wide variety of entrees,
salads, wraps, sandwiches, melts, pasta, mains, side orders and desserts. When
I dined there I started off the meal with garlic bread, which was done to
perfection – crunchy crust and soft bread with just the right amount of garlic
butter. A glass of red wine was much appreciated, as was the bottle of chilled
water. For mains I had the scotch fillet 250 gram steak, which was grilled to
perfection. I asked for a well done steak, and it came out as ordered, with no
pink flesh and no burnt outer. It was tender and flavoursome, a delight to eat.
The accompanying chips were spot on – crunchy on the outside and soft on the
inside, and the salad fresh and crisp. I have a sweet tooth, so I could have
enjoyed all the desserts on offer. I settled on the Chocolate Mousse, which was
smooth, velvety and just the right strength of chocolate. Yum!
For groups of 6 – 30 people a two course lunch (main and
dessert) is available, or for groups of 30 – 140 people a buffet lunch is
available. For dinner groups of 6 – 30 people can have a two course dinner
(entrée and main, or main and dessert), or a three course dinner (entrée, main,
& dessert), or for 30 – 140 people a dinner buffet is available. There
is also a finger food menu and canapé menu.
The Paradiso Restaurant, Bar and Cafe is owned and managed
by Laurence Ichilcik. I was fortunate to have Laurence on deck as host each time I
ate there, and enjoyed his friendly chatter and personal service.
A great dining option at the moment is the "5 for
$30.00 Meal Deal" on offer at the Paradiso Café. For only $30.00 you receive:-
1/ Choice of garlic or herb bread
2/ Any main course form the menu
3/ Any dessert from the menu
