Trentham Takes Out Top Honours

The charming town of Trentham, Victoria, has claimed Gold in the Tiny Tourism Town category at the prestigious Australian Top Tourism Town Awards, officially announced at Parliament House in Canberra. This recognition celebrates towns with populations under 1,500 that deliver exceptional visitor experiences and showcase the best of regional Australia.

Victoria Tourism Industry Council CEO Lisa Patroni expressed pride in the achievement, noting that Trentham’s victory reflects the growing appeal of Victoria’s regional destinations. She highlighted that the awards have become a highly competitive and much-anticipated celebration of tourism excellence across the country.

A National Stage for Regional Destinations

Organised by the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) and sponsored by Tourism Australia and Qantas, the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards honour towns that offer unforgettable experiences for visitors. To reach the national finals, towns must first secure Gold at the state level before being judged by tourism experts, online reviews, and public votes through the people’s choice award.

This year’s winners also include Fremantle in Western Australia, crowned Top Tourism Town for populations over 5,000, and Bungendore in the Canberra Region, which won Top Small Tourism Town for populations between 1,500 and 5,000.

Lisa Patroni congratulated all the Victorian finalists, including Warrnambool and Mount Beauty, for their recognition at the national level.
