Previously hosted in Marlborough in 2016 and 2019, the conferences were hailed as outstanding, with the 2019 edition described by delegates as “world class.” Sauvignon 2027 promises to be even more inspiring, showcasing the innovation, sustainability, and diversity of New Zealand’s wine industry.

The story of Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough began in 1975 when the first vines were planted in Fairhall and Brancott. Marlborough is six times larger in vineyard area than Hawke’s Bay and 14 times larger than Central Otago, making it the heart of New Zealand’s wine industry.

General Manager of Wine Marlborough, Marcus Pickens, highlighted the significance of announcing Sauvignon 2027 in 2025, coinciding with the 50-year milestone since the first Sauvignon Blanc vines were planted.
