A Tourism Revolution in Vietnam

In the lead-up to its National Day on September 2, 2025, Vietnam undertook a remarkable transformation of its tourism sector. The country launched cutting-edge infrastructure upgrades, developed eco-friendly retreats, and created immersive cultural experiences to showcase its natural and cultural treasures. These initiatives positioned Vietnam as a leading destination for both domestic and international travellers during the celebrations and beyond.

Strategic Infrastructure Enhancements Across Key Tourist Hubs

Vietnam had invested heavily in modernising its infrastructure to improve the visitor experience. Key destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, and Ho Tram benefitted from major upgrades. Smart parking systems, eco-efficient lighting, and redesigned public facilities ensured tourists enjoyed both comfort and convenience.

The improvements extended across hotels, tourist attractions, and local amenities, offering seamless travel experiences. By integrating smart technologies and sustainable practices, Vietnam demonstrated its commitment to creating cleaner, safer, and more efficient destinations for travellers.

Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Tourism Retreats

Sustainability had been placed at the heart of Vietnam’s tourism overhaul. In Thuong Tan commune, Sol Retreat Farm 2 emerged as a flagship eco-tourism destination. The retreat redesigned its landscapes with bamboo forests, reed pathways, and terraced fields, creating an atmosphere that echoed the country’s northwest highlands.

Visitors enjoyed cultural and environmental activities such as garden tours, fish catching, and traditional workshops, blending leisure with education. These eco-conscious offerings allowed tourists to connect with Vietnam’s landscapes while supporting responsible travel.

Urban areas also joined the green movement. Ho Chi Minh City enhanced its parks and gardens, ensuring that even in the bustling metropolis, travellers could enjoy tranquil spaces designed with sustainability in mind.

Cultural Celebrations Showcasing Vietnam’s Heritage

Vietnam complemented its eco-tourism growth with unique cultural experiences that highlighted its rich traditions. Vung Tau’s Ho May tourist site hosted spectacular National Day events, including a water music show, the Ho May Show, and a Night Safari tour. These activities combined modern entertainment with local culture, creating unforgettable experiences for visitors.

In Ho Tram, businesses and local authorities worked together to prioritise visitor safety, fair pricing, and cleanliness. These efforts ensured that cultural programmes and festivities could be enjoyed in a secure and welcoming environment.

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine also played a central role, with visitors sampling traditional dishes during cultural showcases, reinforcing the nation’s culinary reputation.

Rising Demand Ahead of the Celebrations

Vietnam’s initiatives sparked a surge in domestic and international travel interest. Booking data from platforms like Agoda revealed strong growth in demand for destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vung Tau. Hanoi, in particular, recorded triple the domestic bookings compared to the previous year, while international searches rose by more than 80 percent.

Tours to Hanoi, Ha Long, Ninh Binh, and Sa Pa sold out early, driven by travellers eager to witness National Day parades, cultural performances, and celebratory marches. The overwhelming interest demonstrated how Vietnam’s blend of infrastructure improvements, sustainable tourism, and cultural authenticity enhanced its global appeal.

A Stronger Future for Tourism in Vietnam

By National Day 2025, Vietnam had positioned itself as a destination where modern convenience, eco-friendly values, and cultural authenticity came together. These strategic investments and experiences not only elevated the celebrations but also laid a foundation for long-term tourism growth, strengthening Vietnam’s reputation as a top travel destination in Asia.
