The Coast is Clear! Sunshine Coast Ready to Welcome Visitors

The Sunshine Coast is open and ready to welcome holidaymakers once again, with its vibrant tourism industry bouncing back after recent weather events. Accommodation, attractions, restaurants, and tours are fully operational, ensuring visitors can enjoy everything the region has to offer.

Flights Arriving and Beaches in Great Shape

Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) CEO Matt Stoeckel has reassured travelers that the Sunshine Coast Airport is fully operational, with flights arriving from southern states and New Zealand. He also confirmed that iconic beaches such as Mooloolaba and Noosa remain open and in excellent condition, inviting sunseekers to relax and enjoy the coastal paradise.

Events Back on Track

Holiday parks have reopened for caravan and camping enthusiasts, and major events are back on the calendar. While the Mooloolaba Triathlon had to be postponed, it has already been rescheduled for the weekend of March 29-30. Additionally, the Noosa Festival of Surfing is set to take place this weekend, drawing surfers and spectators from around the world.

Spreading the Message: The Sunshine Coast is Open

At the ATEC Queensland Showcase in Sydney, the VSC trade team emphasized their key message: the Sunshine Coast is open for business and ready to welcome visitors. This message is being reinforced across Australia and New Zealand to encourage travelers to plan their trips.

To showcase real-time conditions, VSC has launched a new social media campaign using the hashtag #SunshineCoastForReal on its official Instagram and Facebook pages. This initiative provides potential visitors with up-to-the-minute visuals of the region, highlighting its natural beauty and the vibrant atmosphere awaiting them.

Tourism Industry Needs Support

The campaign has already gained significant traction, with 64,000 video views overnight. VSC hopes this momentum will translate into bookings, as many local tourism businesses are eager to welcome guests after a challenging period. Stoeckel emphasized the importance of reviving the industry and ensuring a steady flow of visitors to sustain the local economy.

"The best way to get people travelling again is by showing them exactly what the Sunshine Coast looks like right now," said Stoeckel. "We are working closely with our trade partners to communicate the latest updates and highlight that we are ready and waiting to welcome visitors."
