Permanent Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 - Nguyen Tuan Ha |
This year’s festival carries special significance as it marks the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory and the liberation of Dak Lak Province. More than just a celebration of coffee, the event aims to showcase the rich traditions, economic importance, and global potential of Buon Ma Thuot as the "City of World Coffee."
With 15 official activities, the festival will feature an opening ceremony on March 10 and a closing ceremony on March 13, both set to take place at 10/3 Square in Buon Ma Thuot City. This year introduces several new highlights, including a digital content creation competition to promote the festival, a groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory, and an immersive coffee camp experience at the historic CADA Plantation in Krong Pak District.
Dak Lak Province is home to Vietnam’s largest coffee-growing region, covering approximately 210,000 hectares and producing over 520,000 tons annually—accounting for more than 30% of the country’s coffee output. The festival plays a crucial role in boosting investment in coffee production and processing, strengthening Vietnam’s position in the global coffee industry, and promoting tourism in the Central Highlands. Visitors can explore the UNESCO-recognized Gong Culture Space, sample premium coffee from local and international producers, and experience the vibrant traditions of ethnic minority communities.
To amplify the festival’s reach, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and Miss Tourism Vietnam 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa will serve as official ambassadors, using their platforms to promote the event on social media and international channels. Influencers, content creators, and media professionals have also been invited to participate in spreading the story of Vietnam’s coffee legacy to a global audience.
With a mix of history, culture, and innovation, the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival promises to be the most dynamic and engaging edition yet—an unmissable experience for coffee enthusiasts, industry professionals, and travelers eager to discover the heart of Vietnam’s coffee industry.
