This August, Melbourne's Comedy Theatre will be set ablaze as the Tony Award®-winning musical In The Heights arrives to captivate audiences with its high-energy dance numbers, soulful storytelling, and unforgettable music. After a sold-out season at the Hayes Theatre and acclaimed performances at Sydney’s Opera House, this electrifying production is ready to light up Melbourne, bringing a fresh and vibrant piece of Broadway to the heart of the city.

In The Heights marks the debut musical of Lin-Manuel Miranda, the mastermind behind global sensations such as Hamilton and Moana. With its infectious blend of hip hop, salsa, and Latin rhythms, this musical revolutionized the Broadway scene and set the stage for Miranda’s meteoric rise. Leading the Australian cast is Ryan González, known for his role in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, who takes on the role of Usnavi. Alongside him is Olivia Vásquez from West Side Story, playing the role of Vanessa, and Richard Valdez as the iconic Piragua Guy. Mariah Gonzalez will portray Nina Rosario, a key figure in the story’s heart. Further cast announcements will be made soon, but the promise of an exceptional ensemble is already clear.
