AIME 2025: A Resounding Success for the Global Business Events Industry

AIME 2025 proved to be an outstanding success, facilitating nearly 20,000 meetings among the 4,500+ attendees who traveled from across the globe to Melbourne. Over three dynamic days, the event brought together business leaders, industry professionals, and key decision-makers for a powerful mix of networking, education, and business development opportunities.

Exhibitors

With an impressive total of 675 exhibiting organizations—over 100 more than in 2024—AIME 2025 featured an expanded global presence. Notable additions included new international pavilions from Singapore and Thailand. In total, exhibitors represented 30 countries and territories, demonstrating the event’s broad reach and growing influence in the business events sector.

Hosted Buyers

The event welcomed 640 hosted buyers, including 170 international buyers from key markets such as New Zealand, Europe, the UK, South-East Asia, North Asia, India, South America, the USA, and Canada. Additionally, more than 470 domestic buyers participated, with an exciting 75% of hosted buyers attending AIME for the first time, highlighting the event’s growing appeal.

Education

AIME 2025 placed a strong emphasis on learning and professional development. The AIME Knowledge Program kicked off with a series of engaging keynote speakers, a global business outlook panel, and 20 breakout sessions, attracting 1,500 attendees. Complementing this was the Ideas Academy, presented by Spice, which provided practical insights to more than 2,100 exhibition visitors, ensuring that attendees left with valuable knowledge to apply in their industries.

Welcome Event

The AIME Welcome Event set the tone for a lively and engaging conference, hosting over 2,000 attendees at il Mercato Centrale. Themed “AIMalfi FESTA,” the night featured an unforgettable performance by Australian dance music legends Sneaky Sound System, delivering a festive and vibrant start to the event.

Advocacy

AIME 2025 reinforced its role as a key driver for the business events sector. The AIPC @ AIME half-day summit provided an invaluable forum for convention and exhibition center executives, while the Leaders Forum, hosted by ABEA, fostered high-level discussions among industry leaders. Following AIME, the global exhibitions association UFI held its Asia-Pacific Conference in Australia for the first time, further cementing Melbourne’s status as a premier business events destination.
