Vietnam has once again cemented its position as a top global tourism destination, being crowned World's Leading Heritage Destination 2024 at the prestigious World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony held in Madeira, Portugal, on November 24. This marks the fifth time Vietnam has received this esteemed title, following wins in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023. The country's rich cultural and natural heritage, including its nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 15 intangible cultural heritage elements, and 10 documentary heritage recognitions, has undeniably captured the world’s attention.

This ongoing recognition underscores Vietnam’s exceptional allure, drawing international visitors eager to explore its stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and deep history. From the ancient town of Hoi An to the awe-inspiring limestone formations of Ha Long Bay, the nation's heritage continues to captivate travelers from around the globe. By retaining the World's Leading Heritage Destination title, Vietnam will continue to promote its tourism sector and sustainable development efforts, ensuring its rich heritage remains accessible for generations to come.

The World Travel Awards Gala ceremony also celebrated other notable Vietnamese achievements. Hanoi, the nation’s cultural capital, was honored as the World's Leading City Tourist Board 2024, recognizing its excellent tourism infrastructure and commitment to enhancing the visitor experience. Phu Quoc Island, known for its pristine beaches and tropical allure, earned the title of World's Leading Natural Island Destination 2024, while Ha Nam received the Special Achievement Award 2024 for its outstanding tourism development initiatives. Tam Dao, with its serene mountain landscapes and rich colonial history, was named World's Leading Town Destination 2024, highlighting the growing appeal of smaller destinations in Vietnam.

Vietnam's consistent performance at the World Travel Awards not only celebrates the country’s unmatched natural beauty and rich heritage but also signifies the continued growth and innovation within its travel, aviation, and hospitality sectors.
