Ingenia Holiday Parks to Power a Seamless EV Super Highway in New South Wales

Bonny Hills
Ingenia Holiday Parks, one of Australia's premier holiday park operators, is transforming electric vehicle (EV) travel on the east coast with the creation of its very own EV Super Highway. By the end of 2024, the company will have installed 44 new EV charging ports across 11 parks, providing drivers with a convenient and sustainable way to explore from Brisbane in Queensland to Eden or Wagga Wagga in New South Wales.

Sustainability Meets Adventure

Ingenia’s commitment to sustainability and seamless travel shines with this latest initiative. Building on the success of its initial rollout of five public EV chargers across three parks in 2023, Ingenia is scaling up to meet the growing demand for EV infrastructure. This expansion is supported by funding from Round 2 of the NSW Electric Vehicle Destination Grants, underscoring Ingenia’s leadership in eco-friendly travel solutions.

Convenience at Every Stop

The expanded infrastructure includes:

  • 28 new chargers on individual cabins, allowing guests to book accommodation with private EV charging.
  • Public EV chargers strategically located throughout Ingenia parks.

Key sites set to offer EV chargers include:

  • Ingenia Holidays Byron Bay
  • Ingenia Holidays One Mile Beach
  • BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Soldiers Point
  • Ingenia Holidays Wagga Wagga

These installations ensure EV drivers can recharge while enjoying the comfort and convenience of Ingenia’s top-tier amenities.

A Growing Commitment to Sustainability

Byron Bay
Since its first installations in March 2023, Ingenia Holiday Parks has seen substantial uptake of its charging services, recording 4.2MWh of electricity used by EV drivers. This usage highlights the rising demand for sustainable travel options and reinforces Ingenia’s role in reducing energy emissions while enhancing guest experiences.

Matthew Young, Ingenia’s Executive General Manager Tourism, stated:

“We are thrilled to be expanding our EV charging network to meet the growing demand from electric vehicle drivers. This initiative not only supports sustainable tourism but also enhances the convenience and experience of exploring Australia’s regional gems. Whether guests are recharging their car at one of our parks or enjoying the added benefit of a private cabin charger, we’re making EV travel more accessible than ever.”
