Using data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Department of Infrastructure, the report highlights a staggering 1.66 million Australians departing for international destinations in October alone—a 12.1% increase compared to the same month last year.
Leading the surge is Japan, which has seen a phenomenal 73.8% year-on-year growth, with 567,330 Australians travelling there as of October 2024. Vietnam follows with a 35.4% increase, while Indonesia, including the ever-popular Bali, boasts a 26% rise in Aussie visitors.
