Melbourne confectionary company, Dollar Sweets, proudly presents The Pyjama Foundation as the 2023 official charity partner.
The Pyjama Foundation's dedicated work in improving the lives of children in foster care across the country perfectly complements the spirit of Fairy Bread Day—a treat adored by kids nationwide. This partnership offers an opportunity to raise funds and support an important cause while indulging in the magic of fairy bread, making a difference in the lives of children who deserve our love and care.
Bronwyn Sheehan OAM, CEO, and Founder of The Pyjama Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the partnership, stating, "We are so thankful to have been chosen as the partner for Fairy Bread Day 2023. Our ‘Love of Learning Program’ empowers children in care with learning, life-skills, and confidence to change the direction of their lives."
The Pyjama Foundation organisation was carefully selected as an exceptional movement. With over 48,000 kids in foster care, The Pyjama Foundation's ‘Love of Learning Program’ shines as a beacon of hope, providing these children with the guidance and support they need to embrace a brighter future.
At the heart of The Pyjama Foundation are their incredible ‘Pyjama Angels’ - devoted volunteers who generously give their time to mentor foster care children through weekly one-on-one sessions from reading books to playing educational games.
The celebration of colourful sprinkles on buttered bread has evolved into a cherished tradition, capturing the hearts of Aussies young and old with its nostalgia for a good cause. Over the past three years, Dollar Sweets has worked its magic with their Fairy Bread Day initiative, raising over $85,000 for Australian youth. From teachers to tradies, Australians from all walks of life have come together to sprinkle kindness and create a meaningful impact in our Australian communities.
Adding to the magic, for the entire month of November, Dollar Sweets donates 10 cents from every sale of their 100's and 1000's to support The Pyjama Foundation, to provide more assistance to youth in care.
Miranda Higgins, Managing Director of Dollar Sweets, shared her excitement, saying, “We’re so proud to be heading into our fourth year of celebrating Fairy Bread Day and excited to have our new charity partner, The Pyjama Foundation on board. This day is all about taking a little time out to enjoy a slice of nostalgia with friends or family because who doesn’t love fairy bread? But at the heart of it, it’s about supporting Aussie kids through tough times.”
As the season of Fairy Bread fills the air, join us in making a difference by encouraging friends, family and colleagues to whip out the sprinkles on November 24. Your generous contributions can help children in care embrace a brighter future.
