IHG Hotels & Resorts partners with OzHarvest to launch new burger that feeds three people - you and two in need

We’ve all heard of meat-free Monday and two for one taco night…but beyond the indigestion, what about the people who really need some help?

The cost-of-living crisis is affecting those on the poverty line even more so. So, what can we do about this problem?

IHG Hotels & Resorts has created a plant-based burger as part of its partnership with OzHarvest, designed to fight hunger and help give back.

Every time you order an OzHarvest Burger, it creates two meals for someone in need with IHG donating back to OzHarvest. Available in nine locations across NSW, VIC, QLD and SA, the plant-based OzHarvest burger is curated by InterContinental Sydney Double Bay Executive Chef Denny Lohanda: “When I was a young apprentice Chef, I did my fair share of just getting by each day. I know that’s a far cry from the genuine hardship and hunger many Aussies face, but it gave me a glimpse into the struggle too many people endure every day. That’s why I’m so proud to be part of this initiative.”

The OzHarvest burger is made with a delicious potato bun, blushed herbs and stem chimichurri, and is served with zero waste salt and vinegar potato skins. With a goal of giving back 100,000 meals to Aussies, IHG is encouraging people to rally their friends and family and come in for an OzHarvest Burger on a Friday, and make it a “Feel Good Friday”.

Ronni Kahn AO, CEO and Founder, OzHarvest: “In the last few months, we’ve gone from serving 1,400 people a week to 1,700 at our OzHarvest Market in Waterloo and the charities we support say they need more food to meet demand.

Campaigns like Stay For Good play a crucial role in raising much-needed funds, with every $1 donated allowing us to deliver two meals to those in need.”

In the month of September, people can also give back by visiting Stay For Good and booking and staying with all IHG participating properties nationwide. Please find a link to image assets here.
