Great Plains' Okavango Explorers Camp now open

Botswana Eco-tourism company Great Plains has opened its Okavango Explorers Camp in northern Botswana.

Botswana, a landlocked country in Southern Africa, has a landscape defined by the Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta.

These become a lush animal habitat during the seasonal floods.

The Okavango Explorers Camp is in the 160,000- hectare private Selinda Reserve, which is located at the intersection of the upper Okavango Delta water system and the ancient Selinda Spillway.

The area is teeming with wildlife including lion, leopard and wild dogs, along with elephants, giraffe and rare antelope.

The camp sleeps a maximum of 12 guests sharing and looks to provide a safari experience reminiscent of 'exploring the unknown African hinterland in a 1920’s style'.

Okavango Explorers Camp is the latest to join the Great Plains’ Explorer Collection of camps across Botswana and Kenya.
