School holiday boom for Queensland's airports

Brisbane Airport has seen a school holiday peak in travel welcoming up to 50,000 passengers each day over the weekend, with that number expected to remain steady for the coming weekend. Cairns, Mackay and Townsville have been popular routes as people look to escape to warmer weather.

Gold Coast Airport has also seen a 10 per cent increase on pre-COVID-19 levels for June, with the Gold Coast remaining the most searched destination according to Booking.com.
