The heart beats for Vienna

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) has decided to hold three of their upcoming congresses in 2017 & 2018 in Vienna.

CEO Isabel Bardinet comments on this decision: “This final choice reflects the wish of the ESC leadership to choose a city with a long standing cardiovascular history and one where the city support has been very unique.”

From June 18 – 21, 2017 Vienna welcomes EHRA Europace – Cardiostim, the biennial congress of the European Heart Rhythm Association at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center. The Europace will last 4 full days and more than 6,000 participants are expected to attend the scientific sessions, educational meetings and training courses to participate in the latest research discoveries, to learn from renowned experts and to exchange with peers.

The other two congresses of the ESC will take place at the Austria Center Vienna. The International Conference on Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT happens from May 7 - 9, 2017 with 1,000 participants. This international conference has been a key international scientific event for nuclear cardiology for more than 20 years. It provides the opportunity for clinicians and scientists from all over the world to learn about new advances and to exchange scientific ideas and experiences in a distinctive environment.

Additionaly, Vienna is also proud host city for the Frontiers in CardioVascular Biology from April 20 - 22, 2018 with 1,000 participants. The Frontiers in CardioVascular Biology meetings are increasingly considered as one of the most relevant exchange platforms for basic and translational cardiovascular science. The programme is designed to be cross-disciplinary, to emphasise underlying scientific developments important to cardiovascular biology and science.

Christian Mutschlechner, Director Vienna Convention Bureau adds: “We are more than happy to continue our long standing partnership with the European Society of Cardiology – our heart continues to beat for ESC!”
