Matt Golinski and Matt Wilkinson Headline Tastings on Hastings 2016

A Harvest Lunch by the river hosted by Matt Golinski, Matt Wilkinson's dinners at The Stunned Mullet and a pop-up Oyster Barn are just a few of the tasty new events announced for Port Macquarie's Tastings on Hastings from 28-30 October 2016.

Now in its 14th year, the festival has a hugely expanded program with events held across the community of this bourgeoning foodie region from a new Latin wine bar and community garden to a hatted restaurant and winery.

Three professional chefs Matt Golinski, Matt Wilkinson and Nicolas Poelaert, will be in town to host chef dinners, cooking demonstrations, guided event tours and an industry development day.

Tastings on Hastings is the most vibrant weekend for foodies to visit Port Macquarie and experience its burgeoning food and beverage industry. A plethora of wine bars have opened recently, there are groovy new cafes, award-winning restaurants and a relaxed coastal vibe.

Other event highlights include a Sustainable Table morning at The Lost Plot community gardens, a Beer Masterclass at Latin Loafer and the Tastings Ignites night-time festival on Saturday. This will be followed by the popular main event on Sunday featuring over 120 local foods and beverages to sample, live bands and cooking demonstrations.

Celebrity Chef Matt Wilkinson will delight diners at The Stunned Mullet restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights, and will host a series of cooking demonstrations on Sunday. A hatted chef and restaurant owner Matt is obsessed with growing, sourcing and presenting the best tasting produce he can find. Matt will be joined by Nicolas Poelaert, an internationally renowned professional chef who uses ingredients that he has grown or foraged himself.

Popular chef Matt Golinski will be this year's Producer's Ambassador. Matt has a passion for using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, and is well-known for his food columns, blogs, speaking roles and appearances on TV show Ready Steady Cook.
