The vacation rental property explosion, new technologies such as virtual reality and making the most of on-location movies are just some of the hot topics on the program for the 2016 Hawai'i Tourism Conference.
The annual Hawai'i Tourism Conference, to be held from September 26-29 at the Hawai'i Convention Center, will feature local, national and international experts covering current trends, market development and issues occurring in the global visitor industry.
“The conference will bring together tourism suppliers, operators, policy makers and the media with the aim of knowledge sharing and networking,” said Kerri Anderson, Australian Country Manager for Hawai'i Tourism Oceania (HTO).
“There is no better environment for a global summit on international tourism trends, strategic alliances and emerging opportunities than the sunny Hawaiian Islands, which epitomises a continually growing tourism economy.
“Hawai'i Tourism's goal is for attendees to leave this year's conference feeling inspired, informed and better connected across continents as key stakeholders in a rapidly evolving global travel marketplace,” she said.
Attendance at the 2015 conference reached a record 1,100 and this year Hawaii Tourism Authority will be expanding the conference into a city-wide event which will also include the opportunity to experience some of the destination's attractions and the famous “aloha spirit”.
Early bird registrations close 31 July.
