SNOWTUNES MUSIC FESTIVAL SECURED FOR SNOWY MOUNTAINS UNTIL 2018

Snowtunes, a Snowy Mountains music festival for lovers of dance and trance, has been secured for the next three years.

The exciting addition to the 2016 NSW Events Calendar is set to attract many first-time visitors to the region, Member for Monaro John Barilaro said.

“I am delighted the NSW Government has secured Snowtunes through our tourism and major events agency Destination NSW for the next three years, cementing our commitment to supporting regional tourism across the State,” Mr Barilaro said.

“The 2016 event will be held in September, further encouraging visitation outside the traditional, peak snow season.

“With the new Rex Express air service operating between Sydney and the Snowy Mountains, this wonderful region is now more accessible for domestic and international visitors, and I encourage everyone to begin planning their trip to the Snowy Mountains for this exciting musical festival.”

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said Snowtunes is expected to attract more than 10,000 international and domestic visitors and generate more than $2.4 million in visitor expenditure over the three-year period.

“The Snowy Mountains is home to Australia’s five highest peaks, including Mt Kosciuszko, and offers a broad range of accommodation for a variety of budgets. Snowtunes attendees have the perfect opportunity to further explore the region and discover why NSW is Australia’s premier tourism and events State,” Mr Ayres said.

Snowtunes 2016 will be held in Jindabyne on September 3. For more information visit www.snowtunes.com.au
