This year, the event saw more than 30 shortlisted hotels and suppliers compete for prizes in 18 categories.Brands included DusitThani, Hyatt, Armani, Jumeirah, Hilton, Conrad, Premier Inn, Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria plus many othersacross the Middle East – Saudi, Qatar, UAE, Jordan and Kuwait.
The Middle East is recognised worldwide for its ability to innovate, create, lead and achieve in the field of hospitality and the Awards is where industry benchmarks are set and recognized by the influential panel of independent experts who judge each category and hotel nomination.
This year, in keeping with the changing hotel landscape in the Middle East, the judges added 7 new categories including Best Budget Hotel, Best New Hotel, Best Boutique Hotel, Best Environmental Innovation, Best Community Engagement Best Recreational Facilities and Best Hotel Partner.

Among many well-respected names, local celebrity Cara Jane Roberts hosted the ceremony.There was also a high-energy dance performance by Showstoppers.
A special award was presented by Lindt’sMaitre Chocolatier to Chef Gilles Perrin and SaschaTriemer Executive Chef at Atlantis Hotel on behalf of the 400 guests at the awards.
