A feature film made in Western Australia received a standing ovation at its international premiere at the Director's Fortnight, a section held in parallel with the Festival de Cannes.
These Final Hours tells the story of a troubled young man who makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but ends up saving the life of a little girl searching for her father.
Their relationship ultimately leads him on the path to redemption.
The films writer/director Zak Hilditch and producer Liz Kearney have joined an impressive list of world-renowned directors such as Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Spike Lee and Sofia Coppola, all of whom had films showcased at the Directors' Fortnight early in their careers.
These Final Hours will be released in Australian cinemas on July 31.
